This is a from series of basses that I designed starting about 10 years ago... 2010 era.
My idea is basically a Stratocaster style bass with tremolo.
This is the 2nd version which features a correct S style body.
A friend who was trained and employed by Ken Smith basses local to me in Perkasie PA, built this using my design (under his brand name "Dear John Guitars") 
It is constructed using similar techniques to how Ken Smith would build a laminated body and neck..
I personally purchased the flame maple lumber from the Ken Smith factory stash.
The body is chambered to keep the weight down and is laminated with ash and flame maple.
The neck is laminated flame maple.
The pickups are Seymour Duncan custom shop Strat bass pickups.
Bobbins are Strat style bobbins but with 4 poles for bass.
these are wired up passive just like a Strat with a CRL 5 way switch.
Tremolo system is a hip shot bass tremelo which operates just like a Strat trem and works great.
Stays in tune perfectly.
I did the final assembly on this.
No case but will include a gigbag.
