Very rare 1960 Gretsch White Falcon
This very rare version in one of the last of the original single cutaway White Falcons
This version has a single string mute raised but a device with a Gretsch knob on it which is unique to this version
Most other Gretsch mute devices are levers, this device uses a threaded rod that goes up and down when turned. It does not work very well and the padding has worn from age
2 original Filtertron pickups
The rings show some cracks and missing bits
Electronics are all original and un-modified
Pickups sound wonderful
Pots dates 1960
Neck has been reset
Minimal paint touch up was done
Neck angle is great now and action is super low and easy to play
Frets are original and small vintage frets and worn in a little but they work great
Frets have been dressed and they looks shiny and feel very nice
They could last the rest of your life if you are ok with smaller frets
Original white case as shown
New reissue guitar strap included
Truss rod cover has rotted away and is in a little plastic bag
All parts on this guitar are original with the exception of a bridge height adjuster wheel
The original wheel is in the case (the non-original one worked better for the setup)
No serial number. A Gretsch expert I know says some of these were special orders since these were very limited. Lack of serial number did not concern him or me.
