1956 Gretsch Model 6128 Duo Jet
Weight: 6 LBS 13 OZ
Serial # 19646 = 1956
Tuners were swapped and correct original type has been re-installed
6 extra screw holes were filled and touched up. They are very hard to see and just poke out from the side of the current tuners
2 of the tuners are bent but work fine
There was never a ground wire to the tailpiece so that was added to quiet the guitar down
All finish is original and good vintage condition
The only touch-up was down on back of headstock near the tuners as described
Electronics appear to be all original except the ground wire
Frets and neck are very good condition
Frets look really good, neck is straight and has a good angle
Action is very nice and fun to play
Controls were all cleaned and work smooth and clear
One little extra hole was added on the side to rig the broken pickguard
Original pickguard is broken but included
All the mounting parts are included, I could not find a good replacement
Original case in in very nice condition
One strap button is new, maybe both
A few of the pickguard screws are new / not original
I am questioning the originality of the bridge. It seems old but I do not see these on other Gretsch guitars. Most have a Melita bridge. The numbers "12967" stamped into body at the neck heel, for some unknown reason
