1968 Gibson Byrdland N (Natural Finish) - Florentine Cutaway - Gorgeous
Weight: 6 LBS 13 OZ
A gorgeous guitar that plays well and is in extremely-fine original condition.
According to Gibson shipping records, in 1968 Gibson shipped 194 Byrdlands in Sunburst finish, but only 24 Byrdlands in Natural finish.
The slender five-piece (very) curly maple neck has a non-narrow nut width of 1 21/32", which is half-way between 1 5/8" (1 20/32") and 1 11/16" (1 22/32").
Original 1960's Byrdlands that have both the Florentine (sharp) cutaway and Natural (Blonde) finish, are VERY hard to find, especially guitars that are in the condition of this guitar.
Original patent number pickups.
Original celluloid pickguard is highly unusual given its excellent non-deteriorated condition, which is telling of the guitar's overall condition.
Original black hard-shell case with a badge from the original-selling music store on the marigold interior (Zapf's Music, Philadelphia), along with some "case candy".
Limited areas of the guitar have very mild lacquer checking.
Added strap button.
